The last three weeks of bowling have been less than what I'd consider satisfactory. I guess we were out of practice cuz we were only bowling on friday for two weeks but still... my average seems to be dropping each week. In three weeks on Monday I went from a 205 or 200 and on Friday I went from 205 to 203 in two weeks after bowling series of 598, 56? (with a 249 game), and last friday a 577. Blah!!!! Definitely not good. Almost feel like I have so many balls to choose from I just need to figure out which one to use for the night or game or I'm just too stubborn to switch balls thinking it'll mess up my game even more. In the last month I've gotten two new balls - the Black Widow Pearl and Storm Sure Fire. As of Friday, I'm getting one more - the Roto-grip Venus... don't ask me why... I wanted it so I got it.
My hubby told me that if I got him another ball he'd get switch grips so maybe he'll quit complaining about his thumb being too big or small. Apparently when he said that he was kidding but whatever... too late. I ordered him the ball that night (friday), which is why I decided to get another one at the same time, and they should be in on Thursday so we'll be getting him new thumbs then. Got a six ball bag on the way (be here wednesday) so my hubby doesn't have to worry about the shoulder bag falling off when he's rolling all my balls, so I think we'll be set for vegas in two weeks! Yay!
Anyway, I think I got out of my slump a lil the last couple of days. Bowled the King of the Hill yesterday (Sunday) and started off horribly with a 183 and 198 using the BWP (I sanded it down to 2000 abralon with a lil polish btw so it seemed to be moving better, maybe a lil too much). Third game i found a good line with the same ball and bowled a 229, then had to switch to the tropical storm the fourth to strike out from the 6th or 7th frame on for a 213 and lost the fifth game with a 185... needed the first strike the 10th frame and I coulda won the game... oh well. I had lost my first game too so I was out. It's all good... I had a free entry for the month from winning last month.
As for tonight... I did much better. The Sure Fire I got drilled two or three weeks ago was polished up a lil right before we headed out today. I wanted it to react like my spit fire used to when I first got it, so I thought that polishing it up would help and I think I did. Today was the first time I'd used it for an extensive amount of time with it working for me. Started off with a 213, then lost my second game cuz my stupid A$$ couldn't pick up a 3-6-10 in the 10th because of lack of concentration and bowleda 196, then struck the last few frames the third game for a 225, and did well enough my last game with a 224 (damn 4-7-6 split in the 10th) to win that one by about ten pins. Our teams did decent by winning 17 out of 22 points so we're starting off the quarter well like we usually do.... now we just need to finish a quarter well to make it to the roll offs because we're always losing he last couple weeks of each quarter =( So tonight I finally bowling over 800 with an 858 series so I'm happy again. Woohooo.
